Wars and Prophecy
Christ Ends War
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled... (Matthew 24:6 KJV).
This topical Bible study discusses the concept of war before Christ returns. This article compares end time prophecy regarding wars and rumors of war, with current events. Scriptural references are clear that war and fear of war will increase before He returns. Yet Christians can have peace regardless. Christ's return is good! He delivers us. Continue reading below.
Human nature tends toward combat rather than peace. Fighting has existed since the fall of mankind in the garden of Eden. The first brothers; Cain and Abel fought. Cain killed Abel.
Yet Jesus Christ came to forgive us. The Bible teaches us to
seek peace with all men.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it (Psalm 34:14 KJV).
Most people desire and work toward peace.
Yet sometimes we can't stop those who want strife.
Not Always a Sign
War itself isn't necessarily a sign of the end of the world. Since the beginning of history, people have gone to war. Tribes have battled. Gangs have fought. Western civilization has endured two world wars. Countries have suffered conflict. The increase in war and concern about war must be significant to serve as a sign of the end of the age.
Unfortunately war and concern about war appears to be rising.
Terrorist attacks have increased almost 10 fold over the last 13 years. The western world is concerned about Iran and North Korea's development of nuclear weapons. Nations struggle against war with Islamic jihadists around the globe. Military skirmishes, war between nations, civil war, and unrest, seem more common.
After the so called
Arab Spring which began in December 2010,
the following countries have either been at war,
or remain unstable from civil unrest.
Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Bahrain,
Syria, Algeria, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco,
Sudan, Mauritania, Oman,
Western Sahara, Palestinian Authority, Mali, and Lebanon.
Comparing the last 13 years to the prior 13 years, indicates the number of terrorist attacks has increased almost ten fold. Islamic militants were responsibile for 256 armed attacks around the world, between 2001 and 2013. Yet, Islamic militants were responsible for only 26 armed terrorist attacks between 1988 and 2000.
Rumors of War
Every day the news media discusses the potential for war between nations. As mentioned earlier, concerns regarding Iran and North Korea loom. China and Russia seem more aggressive. Almost unnoticed skirmishes happen on a regular basis. For example, in January 2012 Navy SEALS rescued hostages from Somalia.
Jesus Christ predicted more warfare would occur, yet He
also told His followers,
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up
your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh (Luke 21:28 KJV).
look toward God for freedom during difficult times.
Those who live for Christ
can experience His Peace despite our circumstances.
War is frightening, however Jesus said
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 KJV)
If you would like to live a life of Peace with Christ, please accept an invitation to live for Christ.

End Time Prophecy
End times signs include wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in diverse places, the love of many growing cold (unkind people) and global government.
BibleWithGames.com focuses on Bible study, often through games, combining topics from throughout the Bible, usually with the Revelations of St. John, also known as the Apocalypse, or book of Revelation. Some topics discuss how current events might relate to prophecy. However we can speculate and study, but only God knows exactly how and when prophecy will unfold.
Some topics are very clear. For example, Jesus will return! Other topics require more research. Biblical prophecy makes more sense, the more you know Scripture. Yet no one, except God, understands everything regarding the end days.
Have fun. Love learning the Bible and look up!
